Evening Babysitter for Toddlers

We are seeking a responsible and caring babysitter for our two wonderful children, Malaya (3) and Makai (2), in Austin, TX. This position is for Friday, June 5, 2026, starting at 11:00 PM and ending on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 3:00 AM. Responsibilities include warming up prepared meals, ensuring children eat meals and snacks at the kids' table, and adhering to dietary guidelines of water or milk as the only drinks allowed. You will need to assist Makai, who is currently potty training, and monitor his bathroom activities approximately every 1.5 hours. The role requires reinforcing bedtime routines, which begin with a bath at 7:00 PM, followed by a movie, bathroom time, and storytime, aiming for lights out at 8:15 PM. Familiarity with comforting bedtime items for both children is helpful. Gentle, consistent redirection is needed if Makai has trouble settling down. Discipline is managed through simple, age-appropriate time-outs, with malaya having 3-minute time-outs and Makai having 2-minute time-outs. Clear communication is key to explaining the reasons for time-outs and discussing with the children afterward. House rules include maintaining usual routines, removing shoes indoors, and reinforcing patience and consistency. This position does not involve driving, but feeding and bathing tasks are necessary.
