Part-Time Babysitter for Preschooler

We are seeking a kind, dependable, and engaging part-time babysitter to care for our energetic and curious four-year-old daughter in Birmingham, AL. This is an opportunity to become a cherished part of our family’s weekly routine as our current nanny retires. The position starts on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 07:00 PM, and involves creating a fun and safe environment to engage our preschooler while I work from home. Our daughter loves outdoor activities, reading books, imaginative play, and crafts. We need someone who can encourage her curiosity and help maintain a predictable routine. Typical responsibilities include engaging her in play, reading, crafts, and age-appropriate educational activities, preparing simple breakfast and lunch, and assisting her in tidying up after activities. No housekeeping is required beyond cleaning up spaces and meals related to her activities. You should be comfortable taking the lead independently while I work in a dedicated home office, though I will be available if needed. Our family has a small elderly American Eskimo dog, so you should be comfortable around pets. We are looking for someone reliable and interested in a long-term relationship, who genuinely enjoys building a connection with one child.
