Afterschool Babysitter

We are a busy, easygoing family of five in Hartford, CT, seeking a dependable afterschool babysitter for our three children, ages 12, 9, and 4, for the upcoming school year. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM and Wednesday from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility on end times and negotiable Fridays. We offer $27 per hour on the books, and mileage will be reimbursed for driving the kids. Responsibilities include school pickups, driving to extracurricular activities, homework assistance, preparing snacks and light meals, and encouraging engaging, screen-free activities at home. You must have your own car and a clean driving record. Our ideal candidate is warm, communicative, and genuinely inclusive. We have a super-friendly dog, so pet-friendliness is a must. This position is perfect for college students with available afternoons and evenings. Our current sitter is moving abroad but will assist with interviews to provide insights into our family. A bonus would be if you’re available for extended daytime hours during the weeks of August 17th and 24th before school starts.
