Experienced Special Needs Babysitter

We are seeking an experienced caregiver for our 12-year-old nonverbal autistic son in Salem, OH. This is not a typical babysitting job. The ideal candidate must have experience working with significant autism-related behaviors and be able to provide close, attentive supervision. Our son requires patient, calm redirection and de-escalation techniques due to potential aggression, elopement/bolting, throwing objects, frustration, sensory overload, and difficulty communicating or transitioning. Experience with nonverbal autism, behavioral support, elopement prevention, sensory regulation, ABA/RBT, special education, DSP, or respite care is strongly preferred. We need someone who is patient, dependable, calm under pressure, safety-focused, and genuinely comfortable working with children who have significant support needs. No pets are present in the home. The babysitting session will be on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:45 PM. There is no requirement for driving, feeding, bathing, or bedtime routines.
