Special Needs Babysitter

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable individual to join our children's ministry team as a Special Needs Helper. The position involves providing one-on-one support for a student who loves to play and engage with others. This role is vital in ensuring he feels special, valued, and included as part of our ministry activities in Springfield, MO. Your primary responsibility will be to build a positive relationship with the child, preventing running/bolting incidents by establishing trust and consistency. When the student is not present, you may support other children or assist in different ministry classrooms. The position is available Wednesday evenings from 6:15 PM to 8:15 PM and Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM. There may be additional hours for special events throughout the year. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children, is patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with children who may require extra support. Key attributes include the ability to engage actively with kids, ensure safety, and promote an inclusive environment. Experience with special needs children is a plus, although a caring heart and willingness to learn are most important.
